Save The Date
October 1, 2016

The club will be hosting a booth at the Oviedo Farmer's Market on October 1, 2016.  More details as we get closer to date.

From the President

Summer has officially arrived and one of the things I like to photograph is fireworks.  Luckily for me the club provides a great opportunity to do that when we cover one of our major City events, the Independence Day Celebration.  My photo is a composite of several individual fireworks I captured last year.  Come out and celebrate with us and practice your people, event and fireworks photography.

Summer is the time for fun in the great outdoors and our thanks to Scott and Kellie for hosting our June Field Trip at their home.  It was well attended and Scott is always willing to share his knowledge.  Luckily he will share it over and over for those of us who might not quite get it the first, or second, time around.

Of course, in Florida we sometimes try to avoid the heat and the outdoors.  This month's field trip will give you a chance to do that and still take photos.  I'm looking forward to seeing your cropping and framing skills as you try to keep us guessing "what is it".

Field Trip -  July

What is It?

When:      Any time?

Where:     Anywhere?

The July field trip is not an organized event for a specific date and time.  It can be done at your leisure, at your convenience,  in the air conditioned comfort of your home if you wish,  and at any time between now and July 18.

We invite you to take pictures of common household items, everyday objects, but take the photos with a twist.  Use macro to take it up close, use zoom and focus on only a small part of the object, or take a normal run-of-the-mill photo and crop in to a partial that might make guessing what is is more difficult.  You don't  want the photo to be too easily identifiable, but at the same time, a challenge for everyone to identify what you have photographed. The game of "What Is It?" on July 18 guarantees an interesting meeting.

There will be a Zenfolio gallery to which you can upload your photos, or you can bring them to the meeting on a thumb drive.

Meeting -  July 18, 2016

"What Is It?"
Photo Review

Our next meeting is our photo review of your
"What Is It?" photos and other recent photos from events or field trips.

As usual, bring your photos on a thumb drive. If you have "What is it?" and event/field trip photos please put in separate folders to make it easy for our projectionist.

If you would like to pre-submit your photos by email, send them to:

Why Volunteer ?
OPC volunteers have the unique opportunity to go behind the scenes and participate in and photograph events from vantage points not open to the public. Event photography is an opportunity to learn from each other while trying  something new, having
some fun, and acquiring some new skills.
